A Mother’s Insomnia Is Directly Proportional To Her Love For Her Child

A mother's insomnia is directly proportional to her love for her child

A mother’s insomnia is eternal, as women on maternity leave never sleep. From the moment they begin to feel life in their womb, up to the adulthood of their children, mothers spend whole nights awake.

Without a shadow of a doubt, every child has a guardian angel, not to be sought in an afterlife, but in an “aldiqua”. More precisely, by his side. The  efforts of all mothers who spend days, months, years sleeping sleepless nights to dedicate themselves to their children must be valued.

The insomnia of a pregnant mother

A mother’s insomnia begins already during pregnancy and continues in all stages of the child’s growth. During the advanced stages of gestation she will begin to spend whole nights without being able to sleep.

Why do mothers always wake up when pregnant? Mothers stay awake at night due to the movements of their babies, night owls and restless, or due to the typical ailments of pregnancy.

The insomnia of a mother after the arrival of the newborn

The baby has arrived! Despite the joy and excitement that reign at home, your nights don’t seem to change. Phrases like  “They won’t let me rest”  or  “I can’t and I mustn’t sleep”  are repeated over and over again by new mothers.

And the reason is there. In fact, the first months of all children are difficult for any mother, since they involve a considerable series of changes and a real apprenticeship as a mother. The newborn baby wakes up frequently and cries disconsolately.

A mother's insomnia

Are you hungry? Will it be hot? Will it be the diaper? Nothing seems to calm him more than your arms.  And even so, a period begins in which this eternal vigil as a mother responds exclusively to concern for the state of the child.

And as the child grows …

The little one begins to grow: many things slowly change, and many find their own way. Surely you will arrive at the stage where the baby begins to put his first teeth, to eat solid food, to crawl and finally to take the first steps.

In this stage the baby will begin to sleep peacefully for longer periods! Indeed, if you are lucky he will sleep all night in yarn. What a splendid result, what a conquest!

It is at this point that a new situation arises that is part of a mother’s eternal insomnia: “She doesn’t want to sleep!” The hours go by, you have a hellish sleep, while your child does not give up in front of the tiredness of a whole day of games and entertainment.

The routine started with a hot bath, followed by lullabies, fairy tales, hugs, kisses and caresses is not enough to reach the goal. And even when you struggle intensely with fatigue, your child will be more active than ever: he will try to play, run away, and maybe jump on the bed.

Other situations that cause insomnia in mothers

Surely you thought that we had forgotten the nights you spend checking your child’s fever, paying attention to stools, coughs, rashes and so many other symptoms that worry you enough to take away your sleep.

In fact, a mother’s insomnia is activated even in the face of any disease, at any time in her life.  “I can’t fall asleep”: the state of hyper-vigilance keeps you awake and focused on observing any signs and manifestations of the baby.

Growing up some things will become inevitable, like the first releases. For sure, whether it’s your first outing or your tenth, you will spend whole nights without even approaching the bed. Trying to rest will be a real mission impossible.

“Hi ma, I’m going to a party, don’t wait for me awake”. What’s the plan for the night at this point? Stocks of coffee, a few movies, and of course an ordinary clock to check the time. The motto in these cases becomes “impossible to sleep”.

But even so, with so many nights of wakefulness, mothers continue to give everything to raise their children. Thanks to their unconditional love, these guardian angels watch over night and day for the well-being of the child, at all stages of its development. A big round of applause for these wonderful beings!
