Never Ignore The Baby When He Cries. Find Out What It Has!

Never ignore the baby when he cries. Find out what it has!

There are people who still believe that every now and then it is right to let the baby cry so that he does not grow up “spoiled”. It’s not absolutely true. Never ignore the baby when he cries.

To feel safe and protected, babies need to feel the closeness of mom and dad. A newborn who has spent 9 months in his mother’s womb needs her constant protection when he comes into the world  to be able to grow well both physically and emotionally.

Being a mom can be exhausting, but when you realize that a child needs you all the time, you will realize that it is also a wonderful task. Letting a baby cry just because you “learn to calm down” will only make him feel abandoned. The little one will resign himself to the fact that his crying is ignored and will be prompted to think that he cannot trust the people who care for him.

A newborn (but also a small child) is unable to calm down on their own. He doesn’t have the ability to handle the strongest emotions on his own. For this he needs constant physical contact with his parents. He needs to feel the warmth and love of mom and dad. Only in this way will he be able to reassure himself and understand that he is protected, safe, that he can trust the people who gave him life.

What happens to a newborn when he cries

Never ignore the baby when he cries.

A newborn cries because he is hungry, sleepy, irritable, something hurts him, he needs the love of his parents …

But when she cries, she always does it for a reason. He does not cry so that you can spoil him with your hugs. He cries because he needs you, because he wants you to respond to his needs, and he has no other way to communicate with you. His cries are the only means he has to ask you to take care of him.

In short, ignoring the baby when he cries makes no sense. When a mother worries about what is happening to him and looks after him, the baby will stop crying because he will see his needs met and he will realize that he can trust his environment.

Motherhood is fragile, sensitive and moreover it must be understood as a primary need for the development of the child, from the moment it is born and is placed in your arms.

The silence of babies who are ignored

We want to tell you a heartbreaking story for anyone with a modicum of empathy, which makes them understand what children need. It tells of a missionary who went to visit an orphanage in Uganda. He entered a room that housed 100 cribs with as many babies inside. His attention was immediately drawn to a detail: none of them wept. In the room that housed all those cradles and all those babies, absolute silence reigned. How was that possible?

The missionary could not understand that silence so strange. A woman who worked there explained to him that after a week in the orphanage crying day and night, suddenly the children stop crying, because they understand that no one is running. They realize they are being ignored, they feel abandoned, they know that no one will come. They understand that they are alone.

The fact of being ignored and left on their own marks the identity of these little individuals. They stop being babies and somehow feel they have to stop crying because they can’t trust anyone anyway. It is excruciating for their emotional development. Therefore, no adult should ignore the baby when he cries. Never. Because all babies need to be cared for. Always.

Baby crying is a form of communication. Don't ignore it.

Your baby’s crying

When your baby cries it’s not to irritate you. Crying is just a way of communicating with you at any time of the day. You may be exhausted and lack your strength, but your little one needs your unconditional love. It is essential for its development and for the emotional bond that unites you. Your child needs to know that you will always be by his side, that he is not alone, that abandonment does not exist for him.

Babies need to know that parents are committed to caring for them, to meet their needs, to offer them their unconditional love, to let them know that they are by their side at all times. They need them to promise that they will never leave them alone, that they won’t make them cry, and that they will understand that crying is just their way of communicating.
